GOTHAM CITY HOOPS AAU BASKETBALL PROGRAM

Where Ordinary Becomes Legendary

At Gotham City Hoops, we don’t just build basketball players—we build young heroes. Founded on over 50 years of elite coaching experience, our AAU program is where character meets competition. We’re committed to developing resilient, disciplined, and confident young athletes through elite training, family partnership, and values that last far beyond the court. Here, every player matters, every parent’s voice is valued, and every journey is legendary.

Elite Skills Development

Our age-appropriate fundamental skills training is taught with precision and care. Young athletes develop ball handling, shooting, and defensive fundamentals through a curriculum that makes learning fun and engaging while building a strong foundation for long-term success.

Character Building

We believe in developing the whole athlete. Our intentional focus on leadership, resilience, teamwork, and sportsmanship ensures that every child grows not just as a player, but as a person. At Gotham City Hoops, we build character through basketball.

Academic Excellence

“Great players must first be great students. Our program includes regular academic check-ins and support to ensure our athletes excel in the classroom. We create leaders of tomorrow through a holistic approach that emphasizes academics alongside basketball excellence.

Parent Partnership

At Gotham City Hoops, we believe parents are the most important influence in a child’s life. Our program enhances—not replaces—parental involvement and guidance. Through structured observation sessions and monthly development calls, we create a true partnership that maximizes your child’s potential.

4N Philosophy

“No Feet, No Fake, No Finish, No Minutes. This coaching philosophy builds skills from the ground up. Without exceptional footwork, deceptive moves, and the ability to complete plays effectively, your basketball journey won’t reach its potential. We develop each area methodically.”

Long-Term Athletic Development

At Gotham City Hoops, we’re grounded in the principles of Long-Term Athletic Development—prioritizing progress over pressure, and development over early specialization. Our value-based approach follows a purposeful roadmap that nurtures athletes through every stage of growth, from first-time dribbles to elite competition. Guided by the Youth Sports Toolkit, we focus on building a strong foundation, technical skills, game intelligence, and personal character—ensuring every player grows into a complete athlete and confident young leader, both on and off the court.

COACH WINN PHILOSOPHY

In Search of Outliers

At Gotham City Hoops, I deeply believe in the transformative power of sports to shape and elevate the lives of young people—the earlier, the better. My mission is clear: find those kids who feel the spark as early as five years old. Under the right coaching, these children don’t just grow into skilled athletes; they blossom into well-rounded teenagers and accomplished young adults.

I'm searching for outliers—the young athletes whose parents see their potential clearly and are committed to supporting their unique journey. This isn't just talk; this is real coaching from someone who's lived it and continues to live it every day.

No Feet

Without exceptional footwork—the foundation of greatness—you'll never fully unlock your potential.

No Fake

Mastering deception creates opportunities that raw athleticism alone never will.

No Finish

Your ability to complete plays effectively is what separates contenders from champions.

No Minutes

Your court time will always reflect your mastery of the fundamentals.

Frequently Asked Questions

Below are answers to common questions about our elite youth basketball development program. Gotham City Hoops offers an unparalleled opportunity for young athletes with extraordinary potential and dedicated parents. Our approach is different because our goals are different – we’re building tomorrow’s basketball stars from the ground up.

Our program is specifically designed for athletes ages 5-7 only. Our goal is to be among the nation’s top teams within three years, and build the kids into elite level basketball players that will impact the game long term.

We practice 3 times per week for 2 hours each session (24 hours monthly), using regulation 10-foot rims. Our program runs 11 months annually with a break from Thanksgiving through January 1st for family time. We practice at different courts inside and outside throughout Orange County, and our players come from all over Southern California. Remember, we need outliers, and parents have to be willing to sacrifice in order for us to achieve greatness.

In addition to 264+ hours of team training annually, each athlete receives 12 private one-hour lessons per year (a $1,200-1,500 value), comprehensive skills development, and access to our parent portal. We also include Zoom meetings and video analysis, up-to-date athletic technology, games and scrimmages when appropriate—basically professional-level fun training that develops elite skills.

Our next program cycle begins May 1, 2025. We will start practice as soon as one person signs up and build until full. Remember, this is a sign-up to fill 28 spots, and that is it. There will be no other signups and registration in the future until a spot becomes available. You don’t have to be elite—we will build elite. You have to be an outlier willing to work hard. Many practices will be in South County, but not all. We recommend early registration to secure your child’s place.
